History

The palace complex is located in the former manor village of Opieszyn, now incorporated into the city limits of Września. The palace building was erected on the initiative of the then owner of the estate, Stanisław Poniński.

The date of its creation is estimated to be the first half. In the 19th century, a park stretched around the palace, originally baroque with a regular layout, in the second half. In the 19th century it was transformed into a landscaped one. At the end of the 19th and the beginning of the next century, the building was modernized (reconstruction of the interiors, addition of a one-story residential wing from the south, addition of a front porch topped by a balcony in front of the avant-avant-top).

Period of World Wars

After the collapse of the northern outbuilding in 1916, an open verandah was created in its place, then the segmented closed windows were replaced by rectangular ones. From 1923 the palace was owned by Helena of Poniński and Edward Mycielski. After the outbreak of World War II, the building was occupied by the Germans. Valuable equipment was taken deep into the Reich or destroyed as a result of fire. In 1945, the building was handed over to the District Men's School of Rural Farm, which used the facility as a Complex of Agricultural Schools until the mid-1990s.

Post-war reconstruction

In the post-war years, the foundation lost its original character. Fences and gates were removed, the moat was filled in (Opieszyn Street was built in its place), in the 1960s, among others, the stable, carriage house and riding house were dismantled. A primary school was established within the park, as well as an amphitheatre and restaurant. The palace itself did not escape devastation, which was contributed to by the improperly carried out adaptation of the building for the needs of the school.

In 1996, Roman Mycielski regained the heir of the last pre-war owners of the property — Roman Mycielski.

2005 marks the beginning of the renewed glory of the facility, which was bought and restored and prepared as an exclusive hotel and conference facility.
