Gniezno

The whole commune is located in Greater Poland on the Gniezno Wysoczyzna, which is a natural watershed dividing the Warta and the Vistula river basin. Grzybowo

The first traces of human presence in the area come from the Mesolithic. The town was built in the years 915—922. It was surrounded by a rampart measuring 16 m high.

Since 2000, the Friends of Grodu Society in Grzybowo has been operating there, based in Września. In the years 1999-2014, the International Congress of Slavic Warriors was organized on the territory of the castle every penultimate weekend in August.
